Description

Finally, I created something again. It's been a while! :)

This is my first attempt at vector art. I wanted to learn how to do stuff in Illustrator for quite some time, but never took the time. At the university we were introduced to the program and got some assignments. This one is a self portrait with a photo used as a reference (of course). Also tried to make it look like a still from the movie A Scanner Darkly. First used some Live Trace magic and then modified/added most shapes.

Took me about 8 hours if I counted correctly. But that's okay, it was very refreshing.

Thank you!

@infinity2080:
I wanted to keep the format of the movie, plus I didn't want it too look too boring so the angle isn't completely frontal and the background gradient isn't centered.

Really great work, it does look like a still from the movie The eyes are particularly well done.

number one rule to all vector artist the live trace feature is a BIG NO NO!
the only thing its good for is making a quick texture vector to use for something like this---> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BdXifN0ZyHA

any hoot for your first attempt at vector you did pretty good. =)

Thanks again,
I used Live Trace because it was part of the assignment, the only parts where I left the shapes unchanged is the hair.
